Connect Xero or QuickBooks accounting

Read connected accounting data while distinguishing it from Eva’s native books.

Desktop · Free / Pro · Owner

Before you begin

  • Sign in to Eva and select the intended project.
  • Use fictional records when practising; changes affect the selected business.

Starting screen: /dashboard/accounting

1. Connect the provider

In Integrations choose Xero or QuickBooks, complete external authorisation and select the intended business resource.

Expected result: The connection and project resource mapping become available.

Confirm it worked: Use Xero connection guidance or QuickBooks OAuth guidance.

Result: Connect the provider. Select the image to enlarge it.

2. Choose the accounting source

Open Accounting and choose Accounting source/Provider as applicable.

Expected result: The selected connected business is displayed.

Confirm it worked: Confirm the organisation name such as Northstar Xero before reading balances.

3. Browse the supported records

Open Sales, Expenses and the supported connected tabs. Use sorting and paging.

Expected result: The provider’s cached records appear in the appropriate tables.

Confirm it worked: Confirm labels and values belong to the chosen provider; connected views can be read-only.

4. Handle connection issues

Use the displayed Retry control for failed loading, or Manage connections when authorisation/resource selection needs correction.

Expected result: Retry loads the view or exposes a useful failure.

Confirm it worked: Do not substitute native books for missing provider data without changing the source deliberately.

Troubleshooting and alternatives

Eva native invoice creation, payment recording and bank-statement import are separate from read-only connected-provider surfaces.

When no records appear, verify resource mapping, provider filter and sync status before concluding the external books are empty.
