Inspect balances, ledger and financial reports

Read native financial reports for the selected reporting period.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to Eva and select the intended project.
  • Use fictional records when practising; changes affect the selected business.

Starting screen: /dashboard/accounting

1. Choose the period

Action: Choose the period. Select the image to enlarge it.

Open Reports and choose Reporting period.

Expected result: The report scope changes to the selected period.

Confirm it worked: Check period boundaries before comparing totals.

2. Choose the report

Action: Choose the report. Select the image to enlarge it.

Use Report to select a report such as Balance sheet.

Expected result: The Financial report shows the selected report.

Confirm it worked: Read its date/period and source label.

3. Inspect outstanding records

Action: Inspect outstanding records. Select the image to enlarge it.

Choose Overview and inspect Outstanding balances and its invoice/bill categories where available.

Expected result: Outstanding sales and purchase balances are listed.

Confirm it worked: Inspect the underlying document before changing any balance.

4. Inspect the general ledger

Action: Inspect the general ledger. Select the image to enlarge it.

Choose the Ledger tab and inspect General ledger and use Search general ledger for a specific entry. Use export controls only where available.

Expected result: Ledger records are scoped to the selected books.

Confirm it worked: Compare document references and totals with the report; opening a report does not modify the books.

Troubleshooting and alternatives

Connected Xero/QuickBooks views have their own provider-backed data and supported reports. Select the source deliberately.

Reports reflect recorded entries and chosen periods; they cannot establish that every external transaction has been imported.
