Set up Eva business books

Create native business books with accurate legal and tax settings.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to Eva and select the intended project.
  • Use fictional records when practising; changes affect the selected business.

Starting screen: /dashboard/accounting

1. Choose Eva accounting

Action: Choose Eva accounting. Select the image to enlarge it.

Open Accounting and choose Eva in Accounting source if connected sources are also present.

Expected result: Set up your business books or the existing native books are shown.

Confirm it worked: Connected provider views and native books are separate sources.

2. Enter business details

Action: Enter business details. Select the image to enlarge it.

In Accounting setup, enter Legal business name, Business address, Registration number where appropriate, and the displayed Country.

Expected result: The setup form reflects the legal business identity.

Confirm it worked: Use Northstar Studio and fictional contact details for practice.

3. Review tax registration

Action: Review tax registration. Select the image to enlarge it.

Set Registered to collect tax according to the business’s actual registration. Review the displayed country/tax settings.

Expected result: The books have the intended registration state.

Confirm it worked: Do not enable tax collection simply to match an example screenshot.

4. Create books

Action: Create books. Select the image to enlarge it.

Click Create books.

Expected result: The Accounting workspace opens with native bookkeeping tabs.

Confirm it worked: Reload and confirm the business-book identity and settings.

Troubleshooting and alternatives

This guide explains the controls; tax and accounting treatment must match the business’s actual circumstances.

If setup already exists, use Settings to inspect it rather than creating another book.
