Accounting
Create and issue a quote or invoice
Prepare a native sales document, review its totals and issue it deliberately.
Before you begin
- Sign in to Eva and select the intended project.
- Use fictional records when practising; changes affect the selected business.
Starting screen: /dashboard/accounting
1. Start a sales document
In Eva business books open Sales. Choose New invoice or New quote.
Expected result: The sales-document editor opens.
Confirm it worked: Confirm the source is Eva, not a connected read-only provider.
2. Select the customer and dates
Choose CRM customer. Set Document date, Due date, and Reference where shown. Use Add customer only if the intended customer is missing.
Expected result: The document identifies the correct customer and period.
Confirm it worked: Check billing identity and dates before adding line items.
3. Enter line items
Set Description 1, Unit price 1, quantities where shown and Tax 1 as appropriate. Review totals and any additional rows.
Expected result: The draft displays calculated totals.
Confirm it worked: Verify rates, quantities and tax against the intended transaction.
4. Save and inspect the draft
Click Save draft. Reopen Edit draft if changes are needed.
Expected result: The draft appears in the accounting documents table.
Confirm it worked: Reload and verify amounts and customer before issue.
5. Issue the document
For an invoice, choose Issue invoice after review; use the corresponding quote issue control for a quote.
Expected result: The document receives its issued identity/status.
Confirm it worked: Check the issued reference and inspect Download PDF if available.
Troubleshooting and alternatives
A draft is editable and not the same as an issued document. Issuing may lock information and assign a permanent sequence reference.
Review the relevant document controls for quote/invoice differences; do not assume issuing automatically sends an email.
