CRM
Build and publish a lead form
Create a website enquiry form and explicitly publish the approved version.
Before you begin
- Have owner access and a website origin you control.
- Public traffic also requires the native service and ingress security configuration.
Starting screen: /dashboard/crm
1. Open the form editor
Click Lead forms, then New form.
Expected result: The installation editor and form-field builder appear.
Confirm it worked: Check the form belongs to the current project.
2. Set identity and allowed origins
Enter Display name = Contact Northstar. In Allowed website origins (one per line) enter https://example.com. Choose the accent colour and font.
Expected result: The preview shows the form identity and visual settings.
Confirm it worked: Use the actual scheme and hostname for the intended website; localhost and production are different origins.
3. Build the fields
Use Add field for additional questions. Set each Field [number] label and Field [number] type. For a choice field, enter Options for [label] (one per line). Use the field move controls to arrange questions.
Expected result: The preview shows the chosen labels, types and order.
Confirm it worked: Keep required questions purposeful; confirm the name and email fields before saving.
4. Save the draft
Click Save draft.
Expected result: The working configuration is saved without publishing it to visitors.
Confirm it worked: Reopen the editor and confirm the draft values persist.
5. Publish and enable
As the project owner, review consent/privacy copy, permitted origins and fields. Click Publish and enable.
Expected result: The published installation becomes enabled when public-ingress requirements are configured.
Confirm it worked: The editor exposes the hosted form/install controls for the published form.
6. Install and test
Use the provided installation or hosted-link controls on your permitted website. Submit fictional answers.
Expected result: A successful enquiry creates a submission for the project.
Confirm it worked: Open the submissions view and verify the test answers; disable the form if it should not accept traffic.
Troubleshooting and alternatives
Saving a draft does not publish. Disable stops the enabled installation; it does not erase earlier submissions.
Public forms require complete website-ingress security configuration. If a hosted form cannot submit, verify publication, allowed origins and challenge configuration. Do not weaken those controls to complete a demo.
